Meet Tom Leadon and The Bayjacks!

Tom Leadon is the leader, lead singer, songwriter and co-lead guitarist of the band who plays harmonica, ukelele, and keyboards. He also performs solo shows, and on recordings, with his guitar and harmonica. Tom began playing guitar in 1966 in Gainesville, Florida, with the help and inspiration from his brother Bernie and his bandmate in The Maundy Quintet, Don Felder, both later Rock'n'Roll Hall of Famers with The Eagles. Tom began playing in rock dance bands and soon was playing in The Epics with his closest friend and neighbor, Tom Petty, also eventually a Rock'n'Roll Hall of Famer as well as a Songwriters Hall of Fame member.  A founding member of Mudcrutch with Petty, Leadon later moved to Los Angeles and toured with Linda Ronstadt, Johnny Rivers, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, Joe Turner, Big Mama Thornton, Lightning Hopkins and many others. He played bass for the band, Silver, who had a smash hit in 1976 with Wham Bam, which was recently featured in the film and soundtrack album for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Tom got his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in Electrical Engineering. He was the principle guitar instructor at Jan Williams School of Music in Brentwood, TN for 28 years before retiring from teaching in 2020. Mudcrutch, including Heartbreakers Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and Randall Marsh, was reunited in 2007-2008 and again in 2015-16 for two top ten albums and two sold out theater tours.
